Eid Milad Un Nabi Mubarak Wallpaper
***********
The birth of our Beloved Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, together with Its miracles have been transmitted to us by his mother Sayyidah Aamina Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anha and those in attendance.

As our beloved Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, was born a radiant light accompanied him and he lifted his head towards the heavens and the mother of Othman’s Abil-As’s son witnessed stars lowering themselves and a light so bright appeared that she could see nothing other than light.

Prominent Scholars of Islam on Celebrating Mawlid an-Nabawi Sharif

Eid Milad Un Nabi WallpaperHaving read the words of those who had lived with the Holy Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam and had closely watched his every action, we shall now turn to some great scholars of Islam, whose writings are considered most authentic in Islamic affairs. Pay heed to these to dispel any doubts that you may have regarding the subject. All these great scholars firmly believed that celebrating Mawlid Sharif of the Holy Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam is authentic and lawful.

..:: Sayings of the Great Scholars about Celebrating Mawlid? ::..

1. After relating Abu Lahab’s relief on setting Thuwaibha free, Hadrat Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Dehlvi in his famous book Madarijun Nabuwwat says:

“This event provides a clear proof to those who celebrate Milad Sharif by rejoicing and alms giving on the night of the birth of the holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam), People of Makkah gather on 12th Rabi al-Awwal to is it the house in which the Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) was born. Only because he was his nephew, he has been receiving, in spite of this being an idolater, the benefits of thus rejoicing in his grave every Monday, then how much more blessing will fall to the lot of him who acknowledges the Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) as the beloved of ALLAH and His true Prophet, and celebrates Milad Sharif repeatedly.”[Madarij an-Nabuwwah, Vol. 2, Page 34, Publisher: Zia al-Quran Publication]

As the poet says:

Dostaan Ra Kujaa Kunee Mahroom

Tu Keh Ba Dushmanaan Nazar Daree

How would you (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) leave out friends?

You, who feel great compassion, even for your enemies.”

2. Due to the rejoicing he made at the birth of the holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam), Imaam Qastalaani says: Read the rest of this entry »

The Different Ways Of Respecting The Holy and Blessed Prophet Sallalaho Alaihi Wasallam

madina sharif Not only to stand up is a sign of respect, but there are many other ways of respecting someone or something Like it is in

the holy Quraan:

And seek help from patience and Salaah

There are three types of patience. To have patience at the time of calamity or at the time of hardship or when there is someone who is disobedient and to have patience in refraining from any sins. (Tafsir-e-Sawi)

The question may arise that why did Allah mentioned Salaah after patience? Then the answer to this question has been given by Allama Jalalud-deen Suyuti alaihi Rahmah, in his Tafsir-e-Jalalain:

To mention Salaah independently shows its status and its respect. This means that because Allah wanted to show the respect of Salaah, he mentioned it separately.

For example, if there is a wedding and someone orders his relatives Give invitation to every one who are present in the mosque and also dont forget to give the invitation to Mufti sahib, even though mufti sahib is included by saying every one but to mention him separately is a sign to illustrate his respect.

It is also in second chapter of the holy Quraan:

Oh people of faith! Enter Islam completely.

Underneath this verse, Allama Suyuti has written: This verse was revealed because of some companions like Hazrat Abdullah bin Salaam when they were respecting the Saturdays.

This was due to the fact that Hazrat Abdullah bin Salaam and some of his friends were Jews before accepting Islam, therefore they still had that habit of not hunting animals on Saturdays as they were respecting this day and believed it as a holy day. Due to this reason the verse was revealed.

From this, we get to know that not killing something on a particular day is also regarded as a sign of respect.

When the magicians came to Hazrat Musa Alaihi Salaam, they asked:

You may drop your stick or we will drop ours

The asking of the magicians was classed as respect, and due to this respect, they were gifted with Imaan, as it is mentioned in Tafsir-e-Khazin and Tafsir-e-Jamal: Read the rest of this entry »

Tablighi Jamaat and Wahabis in light of Ahadees

heaven & hellNote: Due to objections from Tablighi Jamaat and Wahabis that the Ahadees stated in this article were not found upon there research. We have posted below the Arabic Text and Ahadis number where possible.

The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) has Prophesied that many individuals and religious sects will cause dissension and mischief till the Day of Judgment. He has made a particular reference to the Wahhabi/Tableeghi Movement.

Hazrat Abu Huzaifa (Radiallhu Anhu) narrates a Hadith concerning the leaders of the mischief makers: “I swear by Allah that the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) has not left out a single leader of Fitna from this day to the day of Qiyamah. Their followers would number 300 or more and further gave their names and that of their tribes.” (Abu Dawood)

FIRST HADITH

Imam Bukhari (Radiallhu Anhu) quotes this Hadith from Abdullah ibn Umar (Radiallhu Anhu) that the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) once prayed for Syria (Shaam) and Yemen. It is narrated that there were some people of Najd also present in the gathering and they requested the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to make du’a for Najd also. The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) continued saying: “O! Allah, Shower Blessings on Shaam and Yemen,” The people of Najd again requested the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to offer prayers for Najd. The Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “It is a place of tremor and Fitna (Mischief) and the horn of Shaitaan will rise from there.” (Bukhari Shareef, Vol. ii, PP. 1050)

It can be deduced from the above Hadith that Najd is neither blessed nor a good place but one of Fitna and Evil. Najd has been deprived of the prayers of the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) and therefore Najd has the seal of misery and misfortune and hoping for any good from there is going against the Will of Allah.

The Arabic word used in the above Hadith is Qarnush Shaitaan, which normally means the horn of Shaitaan. But the ‘Misbahul Lughaat’, a dictionary printed in Deoband has the following meaning: “One who follows the advice of Shaitaan.” (Misbahul Lughaat, pp/663). Thus we learn that a Najdi/Wahhabi group will emerge, as pointed out by Rasoolullah (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) and this group will follow the advice of Shaitaan (Shaitaan refuses to respect Prophets and Saints, remember his refusal to bow to Hazrat Adam (Alayhi Salaam) is mentioned in the Quran. It will create havoc in the Muslim world. We are now witnessing the emergence of the Wahhabis who, with the assistance of petrodollars, are sweeping the Muslim world and are bribing them into accepting Wahhabism as the official version of Islam. Wahhabism is a disease but so many are misled into believing that it is curing the Ummah of Shirk, Kufr and Bidah. It is being portrayed as a revivalist movement. This is against the Ahadith. Looking at the geographical position of Najd, it lies to the East of Medina. The Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) pointed towards the East and said:
“There, that is the direction from where Fitna will emerge.”

SECOND HADITH

Abdullah bin Umar (Radiallhu Anhu) narrates in Muslim Shareef: “The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) once emerged from the room of his wife, Hazrat Ayesha (Radiallahu Anha) and pointing towards Najd exclaimed:
‘This is the center of Kufr from where the horn of Shaitaan will rise’.”
(Muslim Shareef Vol. ii, PP. 1394)

THIRD HADITH
Allama Dahlan narrates an authentic Hadith in his book ‘Addarus Sunniah’, which he has quoted from Sihaah. Read the rest of this entry »

VIRTUOUS ASSEMBLIES – [MAJAALIS-E-KHAIR]

Happy-Eid* Regarding Virtuous Gatherings and Meelad Shareef
* Regarding Rajabi Shareef
* Regarding Rasoolullah Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam going to the Arsh wearing his Naalain Shareef
* Commemorating Virtuous Gatherings on the Wafaat of the Khulafa-e-Raashideen
* What is meant by ‘Lakhi and Hazaari Roza’
* Gatherings during the ten days of Muharram
* Regarding Taazia Daari******

Law: Commemorating the Meelad Shareef, in other words, presenting discourses and narrations (etc) related to the Holy Birth of the Beloved Rasool Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam is permissible. Supplementary to this are incidents relating to his Excellence, Miracles, History, Blessed Life, Blessed Childhood and His Blessed Arrival, which are also discussed in this Sacred Assembly (gathering). These issues have been discussed in the Ahadith and in the Qur’an Shareef as well. If the Muslims discuss this in their assemblies (gatherings), and even if they arrange assemblies (Mehfils) specifically to do the above mentioned; there is no reason to deem it impermissible. To invite people towards such gatherings and to have them attend these gatherings is to invite people towards righteousness. Just as lecture programmes and Jalsas (Religious gatherings) are announced, posters are printed and distributed, articles are published in papers with regards to them, and due to this; those Lecture Programmes and Jalsas are not regarded as being impermissible. Likewise, inviting people towards the Zikr-e-Paak (Meelad Shareef) cannot be regarded as being impermissible and bid’at (an innovation).

Similarly, to distribute sweets during the Meelad Shareef is also permissible and to distribute sweetmeats is the same. When this gathering (assembly) is permissible, then to distribute sweets, which was a permissible action, will not cause this assembly to become impermissible. To label it as impermissible because people regard it as necessary, is also incorrect. Nobody regards it as being Waajib or Fard. I have personally witnessed on numerous occasions, that a Meelad Shareef programme took place, and sweetmeats were not distributed; and let us assume that there is someone who does regard it as necessary, then it is something which he refers to as necessary in the sense of it being customary (i.e. expected and routine). He does not regard it as being necessary in the sense of it being an obligation in the Shariah.

In these gatherings, people stand whilst remembering the Blessed Birth (of Rasoolullah Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam ). In other words, Durood and Salaam is conveyed upon the Prophet Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam whilst standing. The Ulama have mentioned this Qiyaam 1 to be Mustahsan 2. It is (thus) permissible to stand whilst reading Salaat-o-Salaam. Some pious predecessors have even been blessed with the honour of seeing the Beloved Rasool Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam in these gatherings. Although it cannot be said that Huzoor Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam definitely visits that particular gathering, but if he Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam blesses one of his servants with his special affection and Honours the gathering with his Holy Presence, then this is also not something which is unlikely and far-fetched.

Law: In the gatherings of Meelad Shareef, as well as in other such gatherings, only those narrations (and incidents) should be presented, which are proven and authentic. Unauthentic and fabricated accounts Read the rest of this entry »

HAZIR-O-NAZIR CONCEPT USED FOR RASOOLULLAH (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)

ALLAH Mohammed Calliagraphy1. Some people believe that Allah Ta’ala is “Omnipresent”, that is, Allah Ta’ala is Present and Over-looking at every time and at every place. They believe Allah Ta’ala to be “Haazir” and “Naazir”.

2. This is not true, as Allah Ta’ala is not bound by time and space. Allah Ta’ala is Present and Seeing from eternity without time and without space.

3. Allah Ta’ala’s Attributes, namely, Life, Knowledge, Power and Speech, are without time and without place, so are Allah Ta’ala’s other attributes. Allah Ta’ala’s Attributes always exists and will continue to exist till eternity.

4. There is a great difference between Allah Ta’ala being Present and the souls of His creation being present. No one is present like Allah Ta’ala being Present.

5. The Angels, the souls of Prophets, the souls of the Awliya Allah and the souls of pious Muslims are present at any place where they are called. They were non-existent, before being present. They will seize to exist after a while. The souls of the creation were absent before it became present there, and will be absent some time later. The presence of the souls is with time and with place.

6. Now that we have explained the concept of Allah Ta’ala being Present and clarified our position with regards to the station of the souls in this respect, we will explain the concept of Haazir (present) and Naazir (over-looking) of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

7. It is the belief of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama’at that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is given power by Allah Ta’ala to be Haazir and Naazir.

8. Some persons say that the Ahle Sunnat Wa Jamaat believes that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is present like Allah Ta’ala is Present. This is totally false because the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama’at does not have such a belief.

9. The Ulema have used the words “Haazir-o-Naazir” for Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

10. Allah Ta’ala states in the Holy Quran: “How then if I brought from each people a Witness and brought you (O Muhammad) as a Witness against these people”. (Sura al-Nisa: 41) This proves that each Prophet is a Witness for his Ummah, for those who accept Allah Ta’ala and those who reject Him. It also proves that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) was present before each Ummah, witnessing their deeds. On the Day of Qiyamah, when they will be questioned about their deeds, they will deny it. Then, Allah Ta’ala will bring the Final Messenger (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) as a Witness and he will testify because he was present there when they were practising evil.

11. Imam Khaazin (radi Allahu anhu) states, “To be a witness means to be ‘Haazir’ or present.” (Tafseer Khaazin) Read the rest of this entry »

Numeral ’786′ as ‘Bismillahir raHmanir raHeem’

I received an email in which someone tried to prove that the numeral ’786′ does not refer to Bismillahir raHmanir raHeem and it is an innovation by ignorant people. Moreover he copied the 7-8-6 Numerals of Sanskrit Language then flipped/arranged them in a way that makes the symbol for Hari Krishna and said that it also spells out Hare Krishna.

 REFUTATION TO THE BASELESS ACCUSATION:

Praise be to Allah Almighty who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (SallaAllahu Ta’ala ‘Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam)

Well, there are hundreds of scripts and languages in this world, take any sentence or numeric’s, write it in NON-TRADITIONAL styles, FLIP horizontally or vertically, ARRANGE it as you want and produce any rubbish as the people did. Don’t they have anything better to do with their time than mess around with stupid letters and flip them whatever? Ask then to Go and do some proper research in Quran and Hadith rather than wasting their little brain’s cells on imaginary letters. People use 786 to represent Bismillah as a short or to prevent disrespect when writing letters and posting.

‘786’ is indeed the numerical value of “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem”, what difference does it makes if it coincides with the numerical value of the name “Hare Karishna”? A Muslim writes 786 with the intention of “Bismillah…”. It is mentioned in the first Hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari that for everyone it is their intention that matters. A person who performs Salah for the pleasure of Allah he is rewarded duly and the one who performs Salah to be noticed by people is not rewarded.

In the period of our beloved Prophet Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him, numerology (the knowledge of interpretation of words according to numbers) was present, as evident from the following incident.

Hadrat Abdullah Ibn Abbaas narrates, Abu Yasir Bin Akhtab, his brother Hayy Bin Akhtab and Ka’b Bin Asharaf asked Rasoolullah Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam “to swear and tell us if the Alif Laam Meem has been revealed on you as is”? Our beloved Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam replied “yes”. Hayy then said “if you are truthful then your Ummah will remain for a few years, so how can we accept this religion.” They pointed out that according to the knowledge of numerical value it is obvious from the letters of Alif Laam Meem that this nation will be obliterated within 71 years. Hayy asked, “is there any other word like this.” The Beloved Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam replied “yes, there is Alif Laam Meem Saad.” Hayy said. “this value is 161 which is more than previous”. Then he asked, “is there any more?” the Beloved Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam replied “yes there is Alif Laam Raa.” Hayy said “this is even more than first and the second, and we bear witness that your Ummah will only be dominant till 231 years.” Then he said “is there anything else besides these?” The beloved Rasool Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam replied “yes Alif Laam Meem Raa is also revealed on me.” Hayy said, “we won’t believe in you because we are not sure as to which one of your words we should believe.” Then Abu Yasir spoke, “we bear evidence that our Prophets have informed us that this Ummah will rule but they did not tell us for how long, so if Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam is truthful in his statement then according to my understanding Alif Laam Meem, Alif Laam Meem Saad, and Alif Laam Meem Raa all will be gathered for this Ummah.” Then all the Jews got up and left by saying “your matter is doubtful to us.” [Hashiya Saikh Zaadah, Tafsir al Baydawi, Vol. 1, Page 65] Read the rest of this entry »

Laylat al-Qadr ( Shab E Qadr ) | The Night of Power

Hadrat Anas ibn Malik radi allahu anhu reported that when [the month of] Ramadhan came, the Holy Prophet Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam said, “Indeed this month has come to you, and in it is a night more virtuous than a thousand months. So, whosoever is deprived of its blessings is [indeed] deprived of all blessings. No one is kept deprived of its blessings, but only those who are unfortunate.” [Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol 1, Page 119]

Hadrat ‘Aishah radi allahu anha reported that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam has said, “Seek Lailatul Qadr on an odd numbered night (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and the 29th) among the last ten (nights) of Ramadhan.” [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Page 270]

Hadrat ‘Aishah radi allahu anha reported: “I asked the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam: tell me what should I say (pray) on Lailatul Qadr if I know which night it is?” He said: say,

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّى

“O Allah, You are forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.” [Sunan Tirmidhi, Vol 2, Page 191]

Hadrat ‘Aishah radi allahu anha reported that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam used to strive hard in devotion in the last ten nights more than at any other time.” [Sahih Muslim, Vol 1, Page 372]

Hadrat Anas radi allahu anhu reported that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam has said, “When Lailatul Qadr comes, Gabriel comes down with a company of angels who invoke blessings on everyone who is standing or sitting remembering Allah the Great and Glorious. Then when their festival day comes, i.e. the Eid day, He (Allah) speaks proudly of them to his angels saying, “O My angels, what is the reward of a hired servant who has fully accomplished his work?” They say, “Our Lord, his reward is that he should be paid his wages in full.” He says, “O My angels! My male and female servants have fulfilled what I have made obligatory for them, and then have come out raising their voices in supplication. By My Might, Glory, Honour, High dignity and Exalted Station, I will certainly answer them.” Then He says, “Return, I have forgiven you and changed your evil deeds into good deeds.” The Messenger of Allah said, “Then they return having received forgiveness.” [Mishkat, Vol 1, Page 182]

Hadrat ‘Ayeshah radi allahu anha reported that when the last ten days began, the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam used to prepare himself rigorously for devotion; remain awake at night and (also) keep his family awake.” [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Page 271]

Sheikh ‘Abd al-Haq “Muhaddith-e-Dehlwi” radi allahu anhu states under the commentary of the above Hadith that:

Shadda Mizarahu” (tied his lower garment) is a metaphor that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam used to devote himself completely for the worship of Allah, more than usually in the last ten days of Ramadan. Or, this is metaphor that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam isolated and secluded himself from his blessed wives. [Ashi’ah al-Lam’at – Vol. 2 Pg. 115]

ESAAL-E-SAWAAB (CONVEYING REWARD TO THE DECEASED)

* Faateha

* 3 days, Forty Days, 6 months and 1 year

* Regarding recitation of Tabaarak & offering the Koonde (Kheer Puri) Niyaz in Rajab

* Erecting roadside water stalls in Muharram, or stalls for Sharbat (Sweet drink)

* Regarding preparing and distributing Kichra (Soup made from grains)

* Regarding the Faateha of Gyarwee and Chat’ee

* Regarding the Tausha of Ashaab-e-Kahf and Ghaus-e-Paak

* Regarding commemoration of Urs

Law: To convey Esaal-e-Sawaab, means to convey the reward of the recitation of the Qur’an-e-Majeed, Durood Shareef 1 , Kalma-e-Tayyibah 2 or the reward of any other virtuous deed is permissible. One may convey the reward of either Ibaadat-eMaaliya 3 , or Ibaadat-e-Badaniyah 4 , be it Fard of Nafil, the reward for all of this can be conveyed to any other. The conveying of reward by the living benefits the deceased. The explanation with regards to this is mentioned in the Books of Fiqh 5 and Aqaa’id 6 . It has been discussed in Hidaya and Sharah Aqaa’id Nasfiya. To refer to this as Bid’at is to be obstinate. It is also proven to be permissible from the Hadith. When the mother of Hazrat Sa’ad radi allahu anhu passed away, he said, Ya Rasool’Allah Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam ! The mother of Sa’ad (i.e. my mother) has passed away. Which Sadqa is most virtuous? He Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam said, ‘Water’. He had a well dug and said; this well is for Umm-e-Sa’ad  ﺭﺿﻰ ﺍﷲ ﺗﻌﺎﱃ ﻋﻨﻬﺎ . From this it is evident that the deceased receives reward through the deeds of the living, and they attain benefit through this.

Now, as for the matter of specifying (particular days etc) such as three days, or the forty days, then (it must be noted) that these are neither specifications that are fixed by the Shariah and nor are they regarded as being fixed to be specific by the Shariah. No one knows (or says) that the reward will only be received (if sent) on this day or that it will not be received if it is conveyed on any other day. This is simply a customary and commonly known practice which has been performed by the people, for the sake of expediency. Actually, the recitation of the Qur’an and other

1. Durood Shareef refers to sending blessings and salutation upon Rasoolullah Sallallahu ta’ala alayhi wa sallam  ‘Allahum’ma Sal’le alaa Sayyidina Wa Maulana Muhammadiw Wa alaa Aali Sayyidina Muhammadiw Wa Ashabihi Wa Baarik Wa Sal’lim’
2. Kalma-e-Tayyibah refers to the first Kalima being ‘Laa ilaaha il’lal laahu Muhammadur Rasoolullah
3. Ibaadat-e-Maaliya refers to that which is done by spending in the way of Allah, such as Zakaat etc.
4. Ibaadat-e-Badaniyah refers to that Ibaadat which is done physically, such as Namaaz etc.
5. Books of Fiqh, meaning Books of Jurisprudence
6. Aqaa’id refers to ones beliefs. We should all be Sunni Sahihul Aqida as this is the only way and correct way.

virtuous deeds are commenced immediately after the person passes away. This continues for many days at the homes of some people. So, with this occurring, what for is it said that people regard it impermissible to convey reward on  any other day except the specified days? This is merely a baseless blame against the Muslims and is a futile attempt to deprive the deceased from receiving reward and blessings conveyed to them by the living. Now, that we have explained the actual principles, the minor details in this regard can be ascertained from these principles.  ‘Sawm’, in other words the 3rd day (or three day Faateha) is that which is done on the third day after the person has passed away. (In this), The recitation of the Qur’an-eMajeed and the Kalima Shareef takes place, and the reward of this is conveyed to the deceased, and gram, puffed sugar candy or sweetmeats are distributed amongst children and the needy, and food is prepared and fed to the poor and the needy, or it is sent to their homes. These are all permissible and  virtuous. Thereafter, they also cook food on Thursdays according to their capacity and have it given or fed to the poor. Then on the fortieth day (similarly) they feed, and they again convey reward at six months and thereafter, the annual customary conveying of reward takes place. All these are branches of Esaal-e-Sawaab. All of them fall within the same category. It is however necessary that all of this should be done with a pure intention. It should not be done for pomp and show, otherwise there will be no reward for it and it will not be regarded as Esaal-e-Sawaab. Some people give invitations to their elders and close relatives during such times. This is not a time to give invitations, but it is a time to feed the poor and the needy, which will benefit the deceased. Similarly, Faateha 1 is read over Halwa 2 . To cook this Halwa is also permissible and to read the Faateha over it is also included in the category of Esaal-e-Sawaab. In certain places, during the month of Rajab, Surah Mulk is recited forty times and then blessed over ‘Rotis’ or dry dates and these are then distributed, whilst the reward of it is conveyed to the deceased. This is also permissible. Read the rest of this entry »

Performing SHABEENA and it being a means of reward

It has always been the practice of virtuous Muslims to perform ‘Shabeena’ during the month of Ramadaan (i.e. to complete an entire Quran Sharif in Taraweeh in either one, two or three days). It is even reported about some Buzurgs of the deen that they used to complete an entire Quran Sharif daily outside of Ramadaan. All of this is permissible and thawaab on condition that the Holy Quran is not read so hastily that its words aren’t pronounced correctly or that recitation isn’t done with laziness.

Ghair-Muqallid Wahabies (those who reject the Four Imams) call Shabeena Haraam.

In other words, they curse those who recite the Quran the entire night. What deen do these people have?

PROOF OF SHABEENA

To complete the recitation the entire Holy Quran in one night is a means of thawaab, proven from the Quran, Hadith, rational thinking and the books of Wahabies themselves:

1. Allahعزوجل says to His Beloved صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم,”O Beloved covered in a sheet! Stand the entire night except for some part of it, half the night or less than it, or increase on this, and recite the Holy Quran with modulation (Tartee1).”35.1 -Surah Muzammil, Verses 1-4

In this ayat, the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم is ordered to perform narnaaz approximately the entire night. In the beginning of Islam, making ibaadat the entire night was Fardh, with just a small part of the night being allowed for rest. The obligation was annulled (mansookh) a year later-but its preferability (istihaab) still remains. So, whoever remains awake the entire night and sleeps very little acts upon this ayat. It should be bared in mind, however, that only he who can properly recite the Holy Quran should make Shabeena, as deduced from the instruction of Tarteel.

2. Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ mentions a long Hadith about Namaaz-e-Khusoof. In it, it is stated, “In the Salaah of a lunar eclipse, Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم extended his standing (Qiyaam) equal to the recitation of approximately Surah Baqarah,” 35.2

We come to know that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم recited Surah Baqarah (2 lh paras) in Salaatul.Khusoof. In Shabeena, 1 ½ paras occur in each rakaat, so if ½ paras are proven to have been read in one standing, 1 ½ is definitely permitted.

3. Hadrat Huzaifa رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ reports a very long Hadith about the Holy Prophet’s صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم Tahujjud namaaz. His last words were, “The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم performed rakaats of Tahajjud namaaz. In these, he recited Surah Baqarah, AaleImran, Surah Nisaa, Ma’idah and Anaam.” 35.3 – Abu Dawud

Here we see that the Messenger صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم recited approximately 8 paras in 4 rakaats of Tahajjud namaaz. In other words, he read close to 2 paras in each rakaat! This much would not be necessary to complete Shabeena (since only1½ paras are required). Why then would it be Haraam? Read the rest of this entry »
