HAZIR-O-NAZIR CONCEPT USED FOR RASOOLULLAH (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)

ALLAH Mohammed Calliagraphy1. Some people believe that Allah Ta’ala is “Omnipresent”, that is, Allah Ta’ala is Present and Over-looking at every time and at every place. They believe Allah Ta’ala to be “Haazir” and “Naazir”.

2. This is not true, as Allah Ta’ala is not bound by time and space. Allah Ta’ala is Present and Seeing from eternity without time and without space.

3. Allah Ta’ala’s Attributes, namely, Life, Knowledge, Power and Speech, are without time and without place, so are Allah Ta’ala’s other attributes. Allah Ta’ala’s Attributes always exists and will continue to exist till eternity.

4. There is a great difference between Allah Ta’ala being Present and the souls of His creation being present. No one is present like Allah Ta’ala being Present.

5. The Angels, the souls of Prophets, the souls of the Awliya Allah and the souls of pious Muslims are present at any place where they are called. They were non-existent, before being present. They will seize to exist after a while. The souls of the creation were absent before it became present there, and will be absent some time later. The presence of the souls is with time and with place.

6. Now that we have explained the concept of Allah Ta’ala being Present and clarified our position with regards to the station of the souls in this respect, we will explain the concept of Haazir (present) and Naazir (over-looking) of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

7. It is the belief of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama’at that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is given power by Allah Ta’ala to be Haazir and Naazir.

8. Some persons say that the Ahle Sunnat Wa Jamaat believes that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is present like Allah Ta’ala is Present. This is totally false because the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama’at does not have such a belief.

9. The Ulema have used the words “Haazir-o-Naazir” for Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

10. Allah Ta’ala states in the Holy Quran: “How then if I brought from each people a Witness and brought you (O Muhammad) as a Witness against these people”. (Sura al-Nisa: 41) This proves that each Prophet is a Witness for his Ummah, for those who accept Allah Ta’ala and those who reject Him. It also proves that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) was present before each Ummah, witnessing their deeds. On the Day of Qiyamah, when they will be questioned about their deeds, they will deny it. Then, Allah Ta’ala will bring the Final Messenger (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) as a Witness and he will testify because he was present there when they were practising evil.

EXPECTATIONS THAT A MUREED SHOULD HAVE IN HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MURSHID

Some people become Mureeds hoping for financial prosperity, release from the worldly hardships and living a comfortable life. At times, the Awliya Allah bless their Mureeds with worldly favours. The Mureed should avoid worldly motives and take Bai’at (pledge allegiance) solely to attain Allah Ta’ala’s Ma’rifah, cure the soul and express true repentance. He should have the pure intention of complete obedience to Allah Ta’ala and The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

THE MURSHID AND HIS COMMITMENT TO SHARI’AH

The Murshid is obligated to follow the commands of Shari’ah with absolute respect and dedication. The role of the Murshid is to enlighten the path of those who are astray with righteousness and guidance. A “Murshid” who does not respect and follow the Shari’ah is himself in darkness and totally incapable of illuminating (rating someone else’s path or guiding them). Such people are disciples of Shaitaan and the enemies of Islam. Some Murshids go about sowing doubts in the minds of their followers. They teach that Salaah and Saum (Fasting) are outward forms of worship and should be left to the Ulama. They claim that they practice and worship with their hearts only. Such Mushids are astray and mislead their followers too. They feast in Ramadaan openly mocking the Shari’ah and Tariqah. Rabe’a al-Adawiya Radi Allahu anha

The night when Rabe’a radi allhu anha came to earth, there was nothing whatsoever in her father’s house; for her father lived in very poor circumstances. He did not possess even one drop of oil to anoint her navel; there was no lamp, and not a rag to swaddle her in. He already had three daughters, and Rabe’a radi allhu anha was his fourth; that is why she was called by that name.

“Go to neighbour So-and-so and beg for a drop of oil, so that I can light the lamp,” his wife said to him. Now the man had entered into a covenant that he would never ask any mortal for anything. So he went out and just laid his hand on the neighbour’s door, and returned.

“They will not open the door,” he reported. The poor woman wept bitterly. In that anxious state the man placed his head on his knees and went to sleep.

He dreamed that he saw the Prophet Salla Allahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam. “Be not sorrowful,” the Prophet Salla Allahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam bade him. “The girl child who has just come to earth is a queen among women, who shall be the intercessor for seventy thousand of my community Tomorrow,” the Prophet Salla Allahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam continued, “go to Isa-e Zadan the governor of Basra. Write on a piece of paper to the following effect.

‘Every night you send upon me a hundred blessings, an on Friday night four hundred. Last night was Friday night, and you forgot me. In expiation for that, give this man four hundred dinars lawfully acquired.’”

Rabe’a radi allhu anha’s father on awaking burst into tears. He rose up and wrote as the Prophet Salla Allahu ta’ala’alayhi wa sallam had bidden him, and sent the message to the governor by the hand of a chamberlain.

“Give two thousand dinars to the poor,” the governor commanded when he saw the missive, “as a thanksgiving for the Master remembering me. Give four hundred dinars also to the shaikh, and tell him, ‘I wish you to come to me so that I may see you. But I do not hold it proper for a man like you to come to me. I would rather come and rub my beard in you threshold. However, I adjure you by Allah Azzawajal, whatever you may need, pray let me know.”

The man took the gold and purchased all that was necessary.
