A humble appeal of AlaHazrat radi Allah anhu to muslim brethren

Madina MunawwaraIn the introduction of the book Tamheed E Iman (The Preamble to Faith) AlaHazrat radi Allah ‘anhu humbly appeals to Muslim brethren:

My dear brothers! As-salāmu álaykum wa raĥmatu’llāhi wa barakātuh. May Allāh azza wajal keep you, and for your sakes, this poor sinner, steadfast upon true faith and grant us the true love of His beloved, the last messenger Sayyidunā Muĥammad ﷺ and infuse his reverence and respect in our hearts; and that we be in that state until our last breath. Āmīn, O Lord of the Universe!

Your Lord Almighty azza wajal says:

O Messenger! Verily, We have sent you as a witness, and a harbinger and a warner. So that, [O people!] you may bear faith in Allāh and His messenger; and that you revere him and respect him, and that you sanctify your Lord in the morning and evening. [Sūrah Al-Fatĥ, 48:8-9]

O Muslims! Notice that the reasons for which the religion was given, and the Qur’ān was revealed are three, as mentioned in the above verse:

First, that people bear faith in Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ
Second, that people revere and respect the Messenger ﷺ and

Third, that they worship Allāh azza wajal.

O Muslims! Notice the elegant order of these three important principles. Faith (1) is mentioned first and worship of the Lord Almighty is mentioned in the last; and in between these two, is the reverence and honor of His beloved Prophet ﷺ.

Imam Ahmed Raza Khan radi allahu anhu addresses a dis-respecter of the Prophet [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam] on the issue of Ilm al Ghayb

An Excerpt from Al-Malfuz Shareef in which Imam Ahmed Raza addresses a dis-respecter of the Prophet [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam] on the issue of Ilm al Ghayb:

“A person whose leaning was towards Wahabism ideology, asked a question pertaining to the knowledge of the unseen [ilm al-ghayb] of Sayyiduna RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam. The noble imam thus replied,

Do you ask about the general ‘ilm al-ghayb or the knowledge of maa’yakoon [happenings in the future]? I will answer to according to the question.

“I accept that Sayyiduna RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam is the most high and excellent creation and i also believe that he is roshan zameer. But I do not accept that he is aware of theintentions in the hearts of people.”

roshan zamir itself means to know the conditions of the heart. Allah almighty states in the blessed Qur’an,

Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which you are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good. nor will Allah almighty disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen, but He almighty chooses of His Messengers [for the purpose] whom He pleases. so believe in Allah almighty and His Messengers; and if you believe and do right, you will have a reward without measure.

Another ayah states,

He [Alone] knows the Unseen, nor does He make anyone acquainted with His Mysteries, except a Messenger whom He has chosen, and then He makes a band of watchers march before him and behind him.

Allah almighty not only exposes it, but also gives it to His chosen Prophet [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam]s. it is the consensus of the ulama of Ahl as-Sunnah that whatever excellence was granted to other Prophet [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam]s of Allah was all given in a higher scale to Sayyid al-Alameen sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam. Whatever excellence any Prophet [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam] possessed was actually granted to him by Sayyiduna Muhammad sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam. This he granted by the Divine Grace of Allah Almighty. It is in the Sahih of Bukhari and Muslim,

And verily, I am the distributor, and Allah Almighty the Provider.”[14]

woh razā ke neza kī maar ĥai, ke ‘adūw ke seena maiN ghār ĥai,
kisse chāra jaw’yī ka waar ĥai, ke yeh waar waar se paar ĥai

such is strike of Raza’s spear, that it pierces the enemy’s chest ample and deep;
who wants to make an wound that can be healed? this is a strike that shall send the enemy beyond gallows [death] once and for all

Fifthly, as a matter of fact these insolent people have levelled this baseless charge against the Islamic scholars. The experts of the Islamic law have never given such a decision. The insolent people have acted like the Jews and changed the meanings by interpreting the statement out of its context. “The Jews change and interpret a statement out of Its context,” says the Quran. The experts of law have not said that a man who has 99 acts of disbelief and one ad of Islam in his character is a Muslim. 0 Allah we seek your refuge from such a dreadful mischief! The truth, on the other hand, is that the entire Muslim community is agreed on the point that a person who has in his balance-sheet 99 000 statements of Islam and one statement of disbelief is certainly and absolutely a disbeliever. In 99 drops of rose-water if you put one drop of urine, it will all become urine. But these ignorant people say that if you put one drop of rose-water into 99 drops of urine, the whole mixture will become pious and pure impossible. Let alone the Islamic scholars, even an ordinary sensible man cannot make such a silly statement. Actually the experts of lslamic law have said that if a Muslim uses a word which has one hundred possible shades of meaning, and 99 shades of meaning go towards disbelief and one comes towards Islam, it would be fair not to call him a disbeliever, until it is proved that his intention was to express some shade of disbelief through this world. The logic behind this statement appeals to common sense. The experts want to give this Muslim the benefit of the doubt. At least, there is one shade of opinion which is Islamic. 1t is quite possible that he might have intended this one, and this view would go in his favour. However they have already made it clear that, if his intention was based on disbelief, in Allah’s decision he will be a disbeliever. Let us take an example. If Zaid says “Amar possesses knowledge of the unseen definitely.’. This statement has the following possible shades of meaning:

1. Amar by his very nature knows about everything that is unseen. This is clear disbelief and partnership with Allah.
“Say none in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden”,

2. Amar does not possess the knowledge of the unseen but some spirits (Jinn) who possess this knowledge, convey this knowledge to him. So he definitely gets the knowledge of the unseen. This is also a disbelief.
“The Jinn saw clearly how, if they had know the Unseen, they would not have Read the rest of this entry »

The people of Madina were mostly agriculturists and those of Mecca tradesmen. Allah’s Messenger (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) himself entered into a contract with the people of Khyber that they should manage and cultivate the gardens and lands of Khyber and enjoy in return half of the produce and give the other half to him.

The following rules should be observed in agricultural and horticultural leases:

  1. The ground should be capable of cultivation and gardening.
  2. The contracting parties must be mature and duly qualified.
  3. The terms of lease shall be express.
  4. The parties shall comply as to who is to supply seeds.
  5. Shares of the parties to the produce shall be fixed.
  6. The land shall be delivered to the possession of the cultivator.
