1. During the negotiations of the Treaty of Hudaybiah, Arwah, as the representative of the Quraish, repeatedly wanted to touch the beard of the Holy Prophet ﷺ as per the Arab tradition of diverting one’s attention. But, Sayyiduna Mughirah Bin Sha’bah radi Allahu anhu intercepted his hand with his sword. Arwah became very conscious and started observing the manners of the Sahaba. When he returned to the pagans, he said:

“I have seen the Courts of Caesar and Najashi but I never saw the respect, which the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ show to him. They take the saliva of Muhammad ﷺ into their hands and never let it drop down and rub the saliva on their faces. When Muhammad ﷺ gives them some order, they compete With each other to carry out that order. They fight with each other to take the water, Which flows after Muhammad’s ﷺ ablution. When they speak in front of him, they lower their voices and never look at his face directly.” — Sahih Bukhari Vol 3, Book 50,Hadith 891

Let others enjoy respect, while you remain humble.
Let others become rich, while you remain poor.

Hayat al-Anbiya (عليه السلام) [Prophet’s are Alive]

The belief of the mainstream Ahlus-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah is that our beloved Prophet of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and  other Prophets (عليه السلام) are alive in their  respective graves.

They are usually involved in performing prayers and worshiping Allah (out of their own free choice without it being obligatory on them), which we cannot normally see or feel just like Angels are alive and present but we cannot normally see them.

Proofs on the fact that Prophets (عليه السلام) remaining alive in their graves:

There are many proofs in the Qur’an, Hadith and sayings of the predecessors regarding the prophets remaining alive after death. Some are reproduced here:

Qur’an States:

ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلًا فِيهِ شُرَكَاءَ مُتَشَاكِسُونَ وَرَجُلًا سَلَمًا لِّرَجُلٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Allah puts forth a Parable a man belonging to many partners at variance with each other, and a man belonging entirely to one master: are those two equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah. but most of them have no knowledge. [az-Zumar 39:29]

إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ

Truly thou will die (one day), and truly they (too) will die (one day). [az-Zumar 39:30]

Substantiation that the blessed birth was on the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal Sharif

Madina Shareef 30Some deviant and ignorant people claim that the exact date of birth of the Prophet (SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) is not known and hence there is little room for the celebration of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) on 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal Sharif.

12 Rabi’ al-Awwal is not only accepted as Milad Day from the classical and ancient scholars, it is also confirmed by the governments of the whole Islamic world. Almost three (3) dozen Islamic countries celebrate it and have public holidays on 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal Sharif.

Opinion of Renowned Historians for Authentic Date of Mawlid

1. Ibn-e-Ishaq (85-151 H):

Messenger of Allah (SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) was born on 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal in ‘Aam al-Feel. [Ibn Jawzi in al-Wafa, Page 87]

2. Allama Ibn Hisham (213 H):

Mother of the Believers Sayyidah Ayesha Siddiqah Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha | [17th Ramadan]

Sayyidah Ayesha Siddiqah Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha was the third lady to enter the house of the Beloved Habeeb Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him as his wife, and she was the only virgin in the consorts of purity of the Holy Prophet’s Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him house. She was of a tender age when she was married to Allah’s Apostle Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him.

Historical records bear ample testimony to the fact that Sayyidah Ayesha Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha was a precocious genius and was developing both in mind and body with rapidity peculiar to such rare personalities. This marriage is significant in the history of Islam in so many aspects.

Firstly, it cemented the ties between Sayyiduna Rasoolullah Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him and his devoted friend Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddique Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha who always stood by him in hour of trial and who sacrificed his all for the cause of Islam.

Secondly, by this marriage, a lady of eminent qualities came under the direct influence of the Holy Prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him at a highly impressionable age, and this provided her ample opportunities to penetrate into the innermost recesses of the sacred heart of the Beloved Habeeb Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him. She shared his company and thus was able to develop her potentialities and refine her taste perfectly in accordance with the teachings of Islam under the direct supervision of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him.

This young age was in fact very opportune for marriage as it has been clearly shown in the researches of psychoanalysts that much of the emotional of a mature person and most of those seemingly unaccountable leanings, tastes and tendencies comprised in the term idiosyncrasies can be traced to the experience of his or her highly formative age of either later childhood or early adolescence.

Thirdly, all the wives of the Holy Prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him with the exception of Sayyidah Ayesha Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha were of advanced age and thus could neither share the feelings of the younger generation nor could they properly appreciate their point of view. The difference of age always stood as a barrier between them and the ladies of the younger ages. The only lady with whom young women could frankly enter into conversation and discuss problems without any reserve could be none but Sayyidah Ayesha Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha. Thus, the marriage of the Holy Prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him with Sayyidah Ayesha Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha at an age when she was at the threshold of puberty was a great necessity, as it was through her that instructions could successfully be imparted to the young ladies who had newly entered the fold of Islam. Three Conditions for the Acceptance of wazaif from Fatawa Radawiyyah

To achieve the effect of ważā’if [litanies] and aʿmāl [exercises], (the fulfilment of) three conditions is essential –

1 –  [confident expectancy]

For the heart to be free from such anxiety where one is constantly deliberating whether it has had an effect or not. Rather, one must trust wholly in Allāh تعالى that He will definitely accept (this action). It is mentioned in hadīth that the Messenger of Allāh و سلم  ليه و اٰ صلي لله تعالي stated –

ادعوا الله وانتم موقنون با لا جابة

“Supplicate to Allāh in such a state that you remain certain of its acceptance.”
[Sunan at Tirmidhī; V5; P292; H3590]

2 –  [patience and forbearance]

For one not to become fearful with the passage of time, where one thinks – “even after so many days, no effect has become apparent!” This itself will come to be the cause of (the action) not being accepted! Rather, embrace the mindset that without doubt, Allāh and His Messenger و سلم  ليه و اٰ صلي لله تعالي are about to generously favour you! Allāh تعالى states –


Translation of Kanzulīmān –
If only they were content with that which Allāh and His Messenger have given them, and say, “Allāh is enough for us – He will give us some of His bounty and so will His Messenger – to Allāh alone we turn in hope.” [Surah al Tawbah; V59]

It is mentioned in a hadīth –

“Your supplications are accepted as long as you do not hastily say – ‘I supplicated but it is yet to be accepted’.”
[Sahīh Muslim; P1563; H2735]

3 –
With regards permission (to act upon) the entirety of my (meaning `Ā’lā Hadrat’s رضي لله تعالي عنه ) ważā’if [litanies], aʿmāl [exercises] and taʿwīżāt [amulets,] I have stipulated the condition that one must remain regular in offering the five daily salāh with the congregation in the masjid. And with Allāh is tawfīq. [Fatāwā Radawiyyah; V23; P558]

Quran in candle light / Koran im KerzenlichtImam Abu Dawood (d. 275H) (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Aas son of Wael had made a will to free 100 slaves on his behalf (after his death). His son Hisham freed 50 slaves, his other son (Amr ibn Aas) wanted to free 50 slaves but said, “First let me ask the Prophet of Allah (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him)”. So he went to the Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) and asked, “Oh Prophet of Allah! (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) my father had made a will to free 100 slaves and my brother has freed 50 shall I free the other 50?” The Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) replied, If he (Aas bin Wael) had been Muslim then if you would free them or do charity or perform pilgrimage it would reach him.”

Imam Abu Dawood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Saad son of Ubaddah (may Allah be pleased with him) went on holy wars (gazwaa’t) with the Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) and when he returned to Madina, his mother had passed away. He (Saad) asked the Prophet of Allah (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him), ‘Umm e Saad’ (my mother) has died. Which charity [sadqa] is better for her?” The Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) replied, “Water!” Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) dug a well and said this well is for Saad’s mother (that is, may its reward go to Saad’s mother). (Mishkat)

Imam Muslim (d. 261H) narrates from Ayesha (may Allah be well pleased with her): She said that a man came and said “Oh Prophet of Allah! (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) My mother has suddenly passed away and she has made no will. I suppose that if she would have got a chance to talk, she would have given charity (sadaqah) – so if I give charity on her behalf, would its reward reach her spirit (Ruh)?” The Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) replied, “Yes it will reach her!” Imam Nawawi (d. 676) in his explanation of Saheeh Muslim (Sharh Muslim) says this narration (hadith) proves that if charity is given on behalf of the dead, its reward reaches them. Scholars have consensus on this.

Imam Nassai (d. 303) narrates from (Abdulah) son of Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both): He said – a woman asked the Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him), “My father has passed away and he did not perform pilgrimage (hajj).” The Holy Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) replied, “Perform pilgrimage for your father (i.e., on his behalf)

Imam Tibrani (d. 360) and Darul Qatnni (d. 385) narrates that the Prophet of Allah (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) said, “Whoever passes by the grave and recites “Qul ho Wallah-ho Ahad…” (Al-Ikhlas Chapter 112)” (and conveys the reward to the dead), the grantor (of such reward) will get the reward equal to the number of the buried persons.

All these hadith mentioned above are in proof of having a Quran Khawani (reciting Quran). Also remember that benediction [dua’] is accepted when the Quran is completed and so several people recite the Quran in times of calamity and depression and at the end make benediction for peace.

May Allah save us from the devil and his evil traps. May Allah grant us paradise in the neighborhood of our beloved Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him), Ameen!
